Angela is the only flying vanguard and a hero with one of the most annoying CC ability that allows her to displace enemies in any direction multiple times in a minute.
She may not work as a solo tank, because holding frontline is not her job. But she shines as a second tank, constantly annoying enemies, breaking up their frontline or kidnapping the supports.
As Angela
Charge spear, isolate target, secure the kill. Repeat.
Since you’re a disruptor and kind of a diver, the most important part of your gameplay is to pick a right target. You’re a flyer, so you have a luxary of looking to the battle field from above. Use it to analyze the enemies and find their weak spot:
- Is enemy frontline weak? Do you have players who can help to secure a kill? Kidnap enemy tank and push them to your team.
- Are enemy supports too good? Distract them, force them to look at you instead of their team.
- Does your team struggle against enemy flyers? Chase them down.
- Do your supports have issues with enemy divers? Be a guardian angel, CC those divers to death.
You’re flying very loud, but that’s not a flaw, it’s an advantage. You attract enemy attention. Make sure that you do it properly, stay alive, be annoying as hell. Time your dives right, time your retreats even better.
Against Angela
Angela is scared of two things: CC and a failed dive attempt:
- She does not have much HP. If you stun her, she won’t be able to use her shield, and probably will die. Not to mention that she will fall from the sky.
- Diving with Divine Judgement is a commitment for her. If you managed to bait her and force her to dive and land, she is a free kill if you can outnumber her with your teammates.
Other than that, the overall logic of playing against Angela is simple: keep an eye on her, but ignore as much as possible, prevent kidnaps with anti-CC abilities or dashes. If you can, stun her and kill. If you do not have stuns, make sure to help your teammates who have.
Abilities
Ability stats can be found on the game’s website.
Keep in mind that when a new season is released, the information on the site is not updated immediately. Especially team-up information.
Spear of Ichors
- The attack charge is not used when you miss an enemy.
Axes of Ichors
-
Try not to leave “the landing area” of Divine Judgement. Otherwise your attacks won‘t generate bonus health.
-
The attack may look mighty, but you should never go against multiple enemies alone, because you do not have enough sustain and damage.
Divine Judgement
- Since this ability generates bonus health for your allies, it’s great to use to secure kills with your teammates.
Assassin’s Charge
-
It’s okay to use this ability for a movement when you’re going back from spawn. You go further when you do not have enemies on your spear.
-
Usually you want to use your Spear of Ichors right after your carried enemies to the max distance, because your attack charge is full.
- You either carry an enemy into the air, and then attack them with your primary to deal extra damage.
- Or your carry them to the ledge, and then attack to move them further and do not let them escape.
Heven’s Retribution
- The spear you toss is a projectile, while the ribbons are deployables. Which means that both Magneto and Phoenix can destroy your ult on different stages.
